Nursery

Nursery

You, however, continue in the things you have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

2 Timothy 3:13-15

God loves His little children and so do we! Grace is a welcoming place for parents with young children. We have over 90 children already attending with their families and we have plenty of room in our nursery and hearts for more. Our nursery ministry allows parents to attend teaching, preaching and provides a safe, friendly environment for children to thrive and learn. Parents are encouraged to check in their children ages 0-4 in the youth and children ministry area of the building.

Note: For the Sunday morning Christian Education hour and bi-monthly Wednesday evening services, nursery is available for ages 0-2, and class is provided for children beginning at age 3.

Check In

Parents provide their names, phone numbers, and drop off time on the Nursery Sign-In Sheet in order to check in their child before bringing them to the nursery room. They will also grab a security pin for themselves and their child for special precaution. A scheduled nursery worker will welcome your child at the nursery entrance and take the child into the room.

If there is an emergency, your child is in need of a diaper change, or a child is inconsolable, we will contact the parent or guardian by text message or usher.

Check Out

Parents/Guardians should return promptly to pick up their children and sign them out after turning in their security pin following the end of the service or Christian Education hour. The child will not be returned to another adult or adolescent unless verbal parental permission is given at check-in and a parental/guardian notation is made on the Sign-in Sheet.

Nursery Staff

Our nursery is staffed by a dedicated and responsible group of volunteers, all of whom undergo rigorous background checks before being approved to serve in this ministry. All nursery workers are required to be members of Grace Community Bible Church. Older children often are allowed to volunteer as attendants. Our nursery is staffed with a minimum of two adult workers at all times and adult women are present during each service.

Health Policy

We appreciate your help in promoting a healthy environment for our little ones. Please do not bring children with the following symptoms to the nursery:

  • Fever within the previous 24 hours
  • Vomiting and/or diarrhea within the previous 24 hours
  • Any symptoms of childhood diseases (chicken pox, whooping cough, measles, mumps, etc.)
  • Any unexplained rash
  • Any skin infection
  • Pink eye and other eye infections
  • Head lice

If your child is observed with any of these symptoms, you may be asked to return to pick up your child. If a child is being treated with antibiotics, he/she should be on the drug for 24 hours before coming to the nursery or class.

Please see one of our greeters at the beginning of each service for more information.
